The Municipal board

The Municipal Board is responsible for the development in the municipality, and must be able to survey the municipality's activities and economy, both in the short and the long term. The Municipal board handles the overall planning; how land is to be allocated for housing, industry, out-door life etc. The board always gives an opinion and suggests a decision in matters going to the Municipal council.

During the term of office 2010-2014, the Municipal board is led by a majority consisting of 5 Social democrats and 1 representative each from the Left party and the Green party. The opposition is 2 representatives from the Moderate party and 1 each from the Christian democrats, the Liberal party, the Centre party and the Swedish democrats.
