Important message

In case of a discharge of gas, a great fire or some other severe accident, the public can be warned through the system "Important message to the public". This consists of an out-door alarm with a siren, and information in radio and TV. The siren sounds for 7 seconds, followed by 14 seconds of silence. This goes on for at least 2 minutes. After the signal, a message in radio and TV will follow.

When you hear the siren, you shall

 go indoors
 shut all doors, windows and ventilators
 listen for information in radio and TV.

The message in radio and TV will inform you of what has occurred, and if there is a threat. It will advice you how to protect yourself, and if there is anything you can do to facilitate the rescue work.

When the danger is over, the all-clear signal will sound for 30 seconds.

The signals will be tested at 3.00 p.m. the first Monday of March, June, September and December.

Sirens are used to inform about an important message to the public.
