Borås Arena

Borås Arena is one of Sweden's most modern arenas for football, events and conferences. It is a classic football arena with no running-track, but with proximity to the turf for 10 000 seated and 7 800 standing spectators. The arena was inaugurated during the spring of 2005 with the first football match in April and the first concert in May.

Facts about Borås Arena:
Measurements: The field is 105 x 66 metres.
Attendance record: 17 083, Elfsborg vs Kalmar 4 July 2005

The football club Elfsborg was the main driving force in the project to build the arena, but the arena is valuable for football as a whole in the region, as well as for the inhabitants and for industry and trade. We expect that the arena will be used by all football clubs in the region, and by the schools. The arena will also be used for events like concerts and conferences, and more.

Thanks to the synthetic grass on the turf, the arena can be used for an unlimited number of matches and trainings. The surface also allows concerts and such arrangements.

Synthetic grass is accepted for all Swedish matches in league and cup. The Swedish football federation is working for more arenas with synthetic grass, which will be approved also for matches in the planned Nordic league and in tournaments arranged by FIFA.
