Accessibility of premises
Borås city aims to work with universal design. In order to do that we followed an accessibility guideline, known as VGR riktlinjer, it has been developed together with many disability organizations. With this guideline, the city is able to make sure, for example, that all new buildings and renovated buildings meet the accessible requirements.
Signs
The city has an ambition to use as much as possible graphical symbols in accordance to the International Standard (ISO) and/ or the Swedish standard (SiS).
Accessibility database
Accessibility database provides information about the physical environments of buildings and/ or places in the city. This can make it easier to plan a visit to a certain place. Currently, there are more than 300 buildings included in the inventory. Aside from the Swedish language the information in the database is also available in Finnish, English and German.
