Municipal Structure
A simple description of the municipal structure is that the municipality has a political level where elected officials make decisions on all major issues, such as the budget and business goals.
At an administrative level, officials work to put political decisions into practice. The City of Borås has 16 administrative departments which carry out the activities decided on by the governing bodies. Each administrative department is responsible for and works in different areas, such as preschool education, elderly care or urban planning.
The City of Borås employs approximately 10,000 people in the 16 administrative departments.
