Study Formats SFI
At our school, you can study SFI in several different ways. You can study during the day or in the evening, and if you are working, you may have the opportunity to study distance learning (online) or a flexible (Flexen) course.
You cannot choose your own study schedule within a course, but there are study options adapted for those who work or are taking other studies.
Daytime
You study in the morning or afternoon, totalling 15 hours of teacher-led instruction per week. The schedule may vary, and you cannot choose your study hours yourself.
Evening Classes
Classes take place two evenings per week from 17:30 to 20:30.
Distance Learning (online)
SFI distance learning is for those who:
- Have studied Swedish before, but cannot attend classes in person.
- Are in Study Path 2 or 3.
- Are studying the end of course C or course D.
- Have basic computer skills.
You study from home using a computer, but you must attend one lesson per month at school. A laptop can be borrowed from the school.
Flexible (Flexen)
Flexen is a study option adapted to your personal situation and is available for those who:
- Are working (does not apply for internships).
- Are on parental leave.
Studies take place during the day and in the evening, and you study at least three hours per week. The schedule for studies may vary from week to week.
Collaboration with Arena Utbildning
SFI collaborates with Arena Utbildning (Arena Education), and you may be placed either at Komvux or Arena Utbildning. You cannot choose where you will study.
