Collaboration with disabilities organizations

The disabilities council is a platform that connect the municipality and disability organizations. The disabilities councils consist of delegates from disability organizations, professionals working for the City of Borås and the local politicians.

There are three disabilities councils in the City of Borås:

• The main disability council
• The local council – Care and support
• The local council – Culture and recreation.

The disability council aims are to increase participations and accessibility for persons with disability who live in the city of Borås.

Accessibility delegates

The city of Borås has twenty four accessibility delegates. They are people from different parts of the municipality's administrative bodies and companies.

The accessibility delegates meet two times per year to discuss accessibility issues. The meetings are also used as a forum where accessibility delegates are able to exchange and share information related to accessibility with each other.
